청소년들에게 좋은 환경을 만들어 주기 위한 창의적인 공간이 절대적으로 부족하였다. 그럼에도 불구하고 이 시설을 찾는 청소년들은 늘 밝고 활기찼으며, 웃음과 이야기가 늘 함께하고 있었다. 청소년들의 요구와 새로운 학습에 대한 욕구를 충족할 수 있는 방과후 학습모델이 필요했으며, 이에 따른 새로운 내부 공간이 필요한 시점이었다. 시설에 대한 지역사회와 청소년들의 요구를 반영한 새로운 청소년 거점 환경 및 이용자 특성을 반영한 열린 공간으로 구성하고자 하였다. 이를 통해 긍정적인 청소년 문화와 가족 기능이 강화되는 공간으로 변화를 추구하며, 미래를 준비하는 창의적인 청소년의 성장, 가족과 함께하는 안전하고 쾌적한 환경을 제공하고자 하였다.

SPACE CONCEPT

청소년들에게 좋은 환경을 만들어 주기 위한 창의적인 공간이 절대적으로 부족하였다. 그럼에도 불구하고 이 시설을 찾는 청소년들은 늘 밝고 활기찼으며, 웃음과 이야기가 늘 함께하고 있었다. 청소년들의 요구와 새로운 학습에 대한 욕구를 충족할 수 있는 방과후 학습모델이 필요했으며, 이에 따른 새로운 내부 공간이 필요한 시점이었다. 시설에 대한 지역사회와 청소년들의 요구를 반영한 새로운 청소년 거점 환경 및 이용자 특성을 반영한 열린 공간으로 구성하고자 하였다. 이를 통해 긍정적인 청소년 문화와 가족 기능이 강화되는 공간으로 변화를 추구하며, 미래를 준비하는 창의적인 청소년의 성장, 가족과 함께하는 안전하고 쾌적한 환경을 제공하고자 하였다.

가족기능 강화 공간으로 청소년들의 문화놀이터인 동시에 다양한 지역자치 행사가 가능하도록 디자인했다. 시설 및 장비 리뉴얼에 대한 공간 프로그램 및 콘텐츠 형성 또한 초기 공간 구성 시 청소년들의 제안사항을 반영했다. 자치적이며 긍정적인 청소년 놀이 문화를 통해 가족과 함께 소통하는 안전하고 쾌적한 공간을 제공하는데 최종 목적을 두었다. 디자인은 합판과 부분노출천장, 유백색 폴리카보네이트 천장재, 친환경 퍼티 등 절제된 재료와 컬러를 사용하였다. 특히 내부의 방방(먹통) 공간은 코인 노래방, 플레이스테이션, 디지털 포토 부스를 설치하여 잠시 동안 모바일에서 벗어나 함께하는 놀이에 집중할 수 있도록 디자인하였다. 공간구성, 가구디자인 및 배치는 소모임과 다양한 교육프로그램이 통합되어 이루어지도록 하는 열린 플랫폼 공간이다.

3층은 마음껏 학습하고 생각을 공유하는 방과후 아카데미 공간이다. 기존의 공간 구조는 산만하고 미로 같았으며 자연 채광도 일부만 들어와 어둡고 습하고 탁한 지하실 같은 공간이었다. 기존 상담실 또한 도저히 제대로 된 상담이 이루어질 수 없는 창고 같은 분위기였다. 먼저 자연채광을 공간 전체에 고르게 유입되도록 각각의 실을 구획하였다. 청소년 심리 상담실은 가장 좋은 뷰가 있는 곳에 배치하였고, 교무실을 오픈하여 언제든지 자유롭게 학생들이 드나들 수 있는 공간으로 구성하였다. 평일은 물론이고 필요시 주말에도 이용가능하며, 개인/그룹별 스터디 테이블을 배치하여 언제든지 편하게 자기주도학습을 할 수 있도록 하였다. 방과후 아카데미는 폴딩도어 시스템을 두어 필요시 확장형 수업이 가능하도록 하였으며, 교실 밖 공간은 광장형 개념의 열린 교실로 다양한 프로그램(강연, 체험, 식사 등) 이 가능하도록 했다.

4층은 무엇이든 기획하고 자치적으로 활동하는 청소년 전용 공간으로 자치위원회 및 댄스동아리, 열린 작은 도서실, 방과후 교실로 구성된 복합공간이다. 특히 댄스 동아리실은 다양한 프로그램 운영이 가능하도록 AV 시설을 적용해 필요시 폴딩도어를 개방하여 영화 감상, 청소년 장기자랑 등 자치활동 영역이 확장 운영되도록 하였다.

이 장소 또한 자연채광의 적극적 유입과 개방성에 중점을 두어 디자인하였다. 이 공간의 디자인 핵심은 중앙에 열린 작은 도서실이다. 이 공간은 방과후 교실과 댄스동아리 연습실의 완충공간이면서 필요시 다양한 행사와 열린 토론의 장이다.

5층 NEW TURN은 높은 층고와 전망이 탁 트인 장소로 청소년들이 마음껏 뛰어놀며, 창작을 통한 메이킹 공간이다. 또한 미래 놀이&교육 상설 프로그램 운영이 가능한 거점센터 역할을 하는 장소이다. 현재 시설 대부분이 분당구에 집중되어 상시 이용이 어려운 상황이라 지역 청소년들에게 다양한 체험 활동 기회를 주는 데에 목적을 두었다.

단순 체험, 교육을 넘어 시간, 장소, 대상 지도자 등 제약 없는 주도적 창의 놀이 공간이다. 막혀있던 내부 구조와 무대를 철거하니 남한산성과 동네가 자연 채광과 함께 내부로 들어왔다. 막힘 없는 내,외부의 즐거움, 계절의 변화를 누릴 수 있는 데에서 디자인이 시작되었다.

내부 구성은 오픈 개념을 축으로 원형 구조물과 벽면마감(친환경퍼티), 기존 천정 재사용, 기존 바닥 일부 깎기 등 빠듯한 예산으로 최대한의 효과를 얻을 수 있도록 고민했다. 벽면의 불연속적인 터치마감과 노출 벽면, 합판, 부분 컬러는 절제미와 재미를 주고자 덧붙임과 덧칠을 최소화 하였다.

천정 팬던트 라인 조명은 프로그램 운영에 따라 컬러체인지를 통해 수업에 재미를 더해주고자 했다. 기존의 창고와 사용하지 않던 주조정실은 각각 청소년들의 휴식과 아지트 공간으로 만들어 웃음과 생동감이 넘치는 소모임 활동이 이루어지도록 하였다.
